About Us

What to Do?

We cannot be the only ones who want the Covid-19 fiasco to end. As more people display their dissatification with their Government’s strategies (lockdown, facemasks, restrictions etc.), the more chance we have of getting our Government to listen. We need members. Join the Old Normal now, please. It’s free (obviously). And, it’s the right thing to do.

Background:

The Old Normal Organisation is an international group [“the Group”] created in October 2020 in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic which was announced by the World Health Organisation on 11th March 2020[1]Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Tedros. “About the virus”. www.euro.who.int. World Health Organisation. Retrieved 18 November 2020.. At it’s core, the Group believe that Governmental responses to the COVID-19 pandemic are disproportionate to the threat posed by the virus. The Group believe that the resulting governmental strategies deployed to manage the threat, have led to an unnecessarily aggravated disruption to people’s way of life. This worldwide upheaval of society has been often referred to as ‘The New Normal’[2]Kasai, Takeshi (1 November 2020). “From the “new normal” to a “new future”: A sustainable response to COVID-19″. The Lancet Regional Health – Western … Continue reading. We are not keen. We are going to do something about it.

Core Tenets:

The Group believe that while the virus needs to be addressed from a health perspective, too much has been traded off in society in the pursuance of a sterile, risk-free and unattainable perfection. The Group do not want a new normal and nor do they belive a new normal is required. There is already a large swathe of society who think and feel this way[3]Ahrendt, Daphne; Cabrita, Jorge; Clerici, Eleonora; Hurley, John; Leončikas, Tadas; Mascherini, Massimiliano; Riso, Sara; Sándor, Eszter. “Living, working and COVID-19”. Eurofound … Continue reading, but their voices are disjointed and disparate, and get lost in the chatter of Mainstream Media. The Group was founded to enable like-minded people to persuade others of these beliefs. The group aims to unify people so that their isolated opinions can be merged and amplified into one singular coherent movement.

The Group’s Objectives:

Restore Society to Pre-COVID-19 Way-of-Life, by:

  • Increasing the Reach and Influence of Non-Mainstream ideas.
  • Promoting Independent and Critical Thinking.
  • Promoting Free Speech.
  • Engaging with Democratic Processes.
  • Highlighting and Reducing Information Biases.

Additional Information:

To aid people with discovering COVID-19 related information that can be difficult to find on Mainstream Media, the Group’s website[4]Sarsfield, Patricia. “The Old Normal”. The Old Normal. The Old Normal Organisation. Retrieved 18 November 2020. also provide a Centralised COVID-19 Hub which curates and displays various National and International news stories from non-Mainstream sources.
